Sticky rice is very famous for chinese (Tionghua) community, sticky rice is simbolyze ceremony, celebration and competition. For Tionghua community Bakcang sticky rice is ceremony to celebrate Duanwu Jie, Duan  is a hero who state official fight and sacrifice himself for his country until rowning in the vast ocean. The people who support him to look at the ocean with rice and meat spreads that the animals do not prey on his body. The incident occurred on the 5th of the 5th month in the summer, of that event is always celebrated every year with "Bakcang" Sticky rice Festival. Every ceremony is marked by making and eating bakcang or celebration called "Peh Cuan". In Peh Cun ceremony presenting rice dumplings and prayer to get positive energy and daylight to health, work and safety.
For a Chinese community there are 3 major holidays, the Chinese New Year, Peh Cuan and Tiongjiu Pia (Moon Cake).
 In celebration of Peh Cun there are 4 activities, namely making and eating bakcang, stand eggs, dragon boat races (dragon festival board) and a shower in the middle of the day.
Stand Competition eggs and dragon boat race is held each year for the celebration Peh Cuan.Believed the strongest energy of the earth out falls squarely on the feast Peh Cuan, so the competition is held which shows and requires great energy and pray to gain greater power.

Rice dumplings made of glutinous rice that contains a complete side dishes, mushrooms furnace, pork flavoring, lotus ore, walnuts, soybean, egg yolk duck, pork sausage, hmmm ... yummy. Wrapped in bamboo leaves that have been cleaned and square shaped and fastened to close bakcang in each wrapper. It takes a long, long time for the preparation of ingredients and boil bakcang. Start of soak bamboo leaves as wrappers bakcang, spice pork until selecting sticky rice, lotus ore, mushrooms furnace  and walnuts are qualified to get the perfect taste. To boil bakcang takes 12 hours and 6 hours when using a pressure cooker.

Jenang Jubung is black sticky rice is mainstay food from Gresik, east Java. Made of black rice, sugar, coconut oil and sesame, the flavour is sweet, chewy and delicious, that's the comment if you try it. Simple snack but make it need hard effort and a lot of time, at least need 24 hours from soaking, grinding, cooking and wrapping. black rice soaked for 12 hours, after it milled until smooth. Add grated coconut water and take the first juice and cook until thick along with black rice which has been soaked 12 hours. During the cooking process the dough stirring constantly over low heat for at least 6 hours until completely condensed. After cooking for 5 hours add sugar, 5 kg of black rice requires 2 kg of sugar, remove and let stand for 30 minutes and then wrapped in a leave matchmaker , wrap jubung using matchmaker leaves, residents gresik call leaf matchmaker "Ape". Without using preservatives jenang jubung can hold 3 days at room temperature and 10 days when stored in the refrigerator. 

Jenang Jubung snack considerably cheaper than the manufacturing process that takes time and effort full day but the selling price is not comparable. Sometimes life is like that, make it for creativity not counting by money but share it for uniqueness and show the culture of a place.
